Incogni’s Response to Recent Developments with GfK

At Incogni, we have always strived to be a reliable partner for our users, committed to protecting their privacy and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Today, we want to address a recent development regarding a complaint we submitted to the Dutch Data Protection Authority against GfK. We aim to provide you with clarification on the matter and reaffirm our unwavering dedication to safeguarding your rights.

The complaint alleges GfK’s failure to address data deletion requests from Incogni’s clients properly, which include nearly 500 requests from Dutch customers exercising their right to erasure under Article 17 of the GDPR. In addition to the complaint, we have requested enforcement from the Dutch Data Protection Authority to take necessary action and ensure GfK’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Unfortunately, in response to our complaint, GfK has chosen to respond in a manner that we perceive as retaliatory. This includes the delivery of official communication to some of our users, on whose behalf we had submitted data deletion requests to GfK. We deem this to be an attempt by GfK to minimize their responsibility in this matter.

We want to make it explicitly clear that we are not withdrawing our complaint and enforcement request with the Dutch Data Protection Authority. At Incogni, we firmly believe in the importance of safeguarding our users’ rights and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. We remain resolute in our commitment to reach an official review of GfK’s actions by the Dutch Data Protection Authority and advocating for protecting your privacy.
