Spokeo opt out & remove your info

This is a two-part flow: find your listing, then submit it for removal. Here’s how it goes.

Step 1. Find your listing on Spokeo

Go to spokeo.com and search using your name, phone number, or email address.

Spokeo shows a list of possible matches. Look through them for the one that’s actually you.

Click “see results” next to that listing to open the full profile.

Step 2. Copy the profile address

With your profile open, copy the full web address from your browser’s address bar.

You’ll need this exact address for the opt-out form, so keep the tab open.

Step 3. Submit the opt-out form

Go to spokeo.com/optout and scroll down to the “opt out your listing from spokeo” section.

Paste your profile address into the box, enter your email address, and check the “I’m not a robot” box.

Click “opt out” to send the request.

Step 4. Confirm through email

Spokeo emails you a confirmation link within a few minutes.

Open the email and click the link inside it.

That link is what tells Spokeo the request is really from you. Skip it, and the listing stays up.

How to cancel your Spokeo subscription

Opting out and canceling are two different things. Opting out removes your listing from search results. Canceling stops Spokeo from charging you for a paid membership. Here’s how to handle the second one.

Cancel from your account page

Log in and go to your “account” page.

Scroll down to the “manage account” section.

Click “cancel” to end your membership.

If there’s no “cancel” button, look for a “contact form” link in the same section. Open it, choose “i would like to terminate my membership” from the dropdown, and select “terminate now”.

Talk to Spokeo’s customer care team

If the account page gives you trouble, Spokeo’s customer care team can cancel it for you. You can reach them by email or through the contact page linked from your account settings.

Alternative opt-out methods

The online form is the fastest way to opt out. If you’d rather not use it, you can email Spokeo’s privacy team instead.

What to expect after opting out

Spokeo’s own estimate is 24–48 hours after you confirm by email. The exact time depends on how much data is involved, so give it a few extra days if it’s still up. That doesn’t mean the request failed.

How to verify your data was removed

Search your name on Spokeo again after a couple of days. Use a private or incognito browser window, so you’re not looking at a cached version of the page.

Will your data come back?

It can. Spokeo pulls from public records that update constantly, so a new version of your listing can appear later, sometimes under a different web address. That’s why it’s worth searching yourself again every so often, even after a successful opt-out.

Troubleshooting

The form won’t accept your address, or shows an error

Try an incognito or private browser window and paste the address again. If that doesn’t work, use the contact link on the opt-out page or email [email protected] and describe the error you’re seeing.

The confirmation email never arrived

Check your spam and promotions folders first. If it’s still not there after 15 minutes, the request may not have gone through. Go back to spokeo.com/optout and submit it again.

You have more than one listing

Spokeo gives each listing its own web address, even when they’re all about you. Old addresses and slightly different name spellings can each create a separate profile. Repeat the opt-out for every listing you find.

Your data reappeared after removal

This means a new listing was created, not that your first request failed. Search for yourself again, find the new address, and run the opt-out form on that one too.

Other people search sites that may have your data

Spokeo isn’t the only site with your information on it. Most people search sites pull from the same public records, so if you’re listed on Spokeo, there’s a good chance you’re listed on others too, each with its own opt-out form and its own rules.
