PeopleFinders Opt Out & Remove Your Info

The PeopleFinders opt-out process is fairly straightforward, but it’s not the quickest one we’ve come across. You’ll need to find your profile on the PeopleFinders.com search page and then use the URL of that profile to fill in the PeopleFinders opt-out form. This form will also ask you for an email so that you can receive a verification link.

PeopleFinders gets your data by constantly scraping public records, so you’ll need to periodically repeat the opt-out process to make sure your personal information stays off the site. Removing your data from PeopleFinders.com won’t remove it from any of the dozens of other people search sites that likely also have it.
Follow our step-by-step guide to opt out of PeopleFinders and check out our other opt-out guides for some of the major data brokers operating in the US. You can also skip the hassle altogether and let Incogni remove and keep your data off PeopleFinders and dozens of other data brokers at a time, automatically.

8) Continue your data removal journey

PeopleFinders is just one of an estimated 4,000 data brokers around the world. These companies deal in the kind of personal information you just removed from PeopleFinders. In fact, many have even more data points on you. Some even list SSNs.

We recommend removing your personal data from all data brokers. It’s the only way to get your data off the market. You can do this by looking up your name in a web search engine or finding data brokers operating in your area. Send opt-out requests to every broker you find and then periodically check back with them to make sure your listings don’t reappear.

FAQ

What is PeopleFinders?

PeopleFinders.com is a people search site that scrapes the internet for public records and compiles them into detailed, easily searchable profiles.

Anyone with a PeopleFinders subscription can get their hands on a report that includes your:
– Full name
– Current address
– Phone number
– Prior residences
– Relatives
– Aliases
– Age / birth month & year
– Neighbors
– Property records
– Bankruptcies
– Judgments & liens
– Business & professional contacts
– Deceased indicator
– Misdemeanors
– Criminal check
– Sex offender check

While some of these results require the premium “background check” subscription, with a $3.95 three-day trial on offer, there’s very little standing in the way of anyone getting their hands on this information.

Given how many details are available and how easy it is to search on PeopleFinders, having your data up on the site puts you at significant risk. Scammers, stalkers, and cybercriminals need only have a scrap of information about you to get a full report within seconds. To protect and keep your data private, we recommend removing your personal information from websites like PeopleFinders that publish or sell it online.

How long does it take to opt out of Spy Dialer?

The whole Spy Dialer opt-out process should take you less than 5 minutes to complete.

When will Spy Dialer delete my information?

Spy Dialer should delete your information as soon as you complete the opt-out procedure. You can check this by searching for yourself as soon as you’re done.

How does Spy Dialer get my data?

Spy Dialer gets your data by scraping online public records, including homeownership records. It displays only publicly available information, but it’s information that wouldn’t otherwise be found in one place or be so easily searchable.

Can Spy Dialer add my information again, even after I successfully opt out?

Yes, Spy Dialer may well add your information again after you opt out. This is a problem with most data brokers. They frequently update their databases with freshly scraped data and sometimes fail to match incoming data to an already opted-out profile.

One way to deal with this is to periodically come back to the site and search for yourself. As soon as you find a new listing under your name, simply redo the opt-out procedure. Or subscribe to Incogni: we’ll do regular sweeps of all the major data brokers to make sure your personal information stays off the market.

Does Spy Dialer have the right to use my data?

Yes, Spy Dialer itself accurately describes what it does as “sneaky… but legal.” However, some states have laws protecting your data privacy rights, meaning that companies like Spy Dialer have to remove your data when asked to do so. The Spy Dialer opt-out procedure works regardless of whether you live in a state that has such laws on the books.
