Kiwi Searches Opt Out & Remove Your Info

Kiwi Searches is a data broker site that specializes in collecting personal information on everyday Americans and making it available to its online users. Someone need only know your name or phone number to pull up a detailed profile on you.

The fact that the Kiwi Searches site includes a “dos and don’ts” page that asks users not to use the data broker’s services to “stalk or harass another person” or “commit identity theft” speaks volumes. You don’t want your personal information sitting up on this site with only a “please don’t” keeping scammers, stalkers, and cybercriminals at bay.

The good news is that you can opt out of Kiwi Searches. Our step-by-step guide will walk you through the process, which shouldn’t take you more than 10 minutes to complete. This particular people search site doesn’t make opting out easy, but don’t let that discourage you.

Opt-out process:  5 – 10 minutes

Step-by-step Kiwi Searches opt-out guide

Total Time: 5 minutes

  1. Head to https://kiwisearches.com/people-search and search for your first and last name or phone number

    Opt Out KiwiSearches Step 1-2

Go to the Kiwi Searches people search page, type in your first and last name, and choose your state from the drop-down menu. Alternatively, go to the reverse phone number search page and enter your phone number. Click on the magnifying glass icon.

  2. Ignore the popups, identify and open your record, and copy the URL of your listing from the address bar

    Opt Out KiwiSearches Step 2-1

After a series of possibly fake loading screens and apparently spurious warnings, you’ll be taken to the search result or results. Identify and open your record and copy the URL from the address bar.

  3. Open a support ticket or email support@kiwisearches.com to request the data removal

If you already have an account with Kiwi Searches, open a support ticket. Otherwise, start composing an email to support@kiwisearches.com.

Include your first and last name, email address, and the URL you copied in the previous step. You can include your phone number or full address in place of this URL, just make sure this is personal information that this data broker already has on you.

Kiwi Searches requires proof of identification and proof of current address to go with your opt-out request, but we strongly advise against giving any data broker these kinds of documents.

TIP: Use a throwaway email account or masked email address to protect you privacy when dealing with data brokers. If you don’t have one yet, we reviewed disposable email services in this article.

4. Continue your data removal journey

Allow up to five business days for your removal request to be processed. Don’t get your hopes up, though—if all the complaints at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) are anything to go by, it’s unlikely this company is going to comply.

Do not send Kiwi Searches your ID documents, many of the people lodging complaints on the BBB’s website did so and didn’t have their personal information removed. Giving a data broker documents like this puts you at far greater risk of identity theft. As it stands, this data broker probably only has access to public information.

Even if you do get Kiwi Searches to delete your information from their search results, there’s a warning on their website that “new data automatically imports into [their] system on a regular basis” and that you should “check back for additional listings that may need to be removed in the future.”

Don’t let your experiences with this site put you off working to protect your data privacy. There are hundreds of other companies and websites like this one out there, trading in your personal information. Check out our other opt-out guides to get started:

Kiwi Searches’ advice about checking back regularly to make sure your information stays off the site holds true for all data brokers.
