Numberville Opt Out & Remove Your Info

Numberville.com is a data broker site that provides a reverse phone lookup service. Anyone who has your phone number can use it to find a detailed profile on you.

A site like Numberville can really come in handy if you’re searching for people with whom you’ve lost touch or want to check out that missed call from a suspicious number. But having your personal information so easily accessible online exposes you to a number of risks.

From nuisances like spam and robocalls to more serious threats like phishing campaigns, targeted scams, and stalking—all of these bad actors can use your private data against you.

Luckily, you can submit a removal request to have your Numberville profile taken down. With our guide, it shouldn’t take you more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, you will need to wait quite a while before you hear back from them.

Step-by-step Numberville opt-out guide

Total Time: 5 minutes

  1. Find your listing on Numberville

Opt out of Numberville step 1

Navigate to the Numberville website, type your phone number into the search bar, and click “search.”

  2. Begin the opt-out process by clicking “report a problem

Once you’ve found your record, click on “report a problem” under the owner information section.

  3. Submit your opt-out request

Enter your name as it appears in your listing, your email address, and a note asking for your information to be removed from the site.

Something like “please remove my listing from your site” is enough. Your record number should already appear in the comment field—don’t delete it.

Finally, complete the CAPTCHA challenge and click “submit.”

TIP: Use a throwaway email account or masked email address, even if Numberville already has your email address (they don’t know that it’s valid and that information is valuable to them). We reviewed disposable email services in this article.

4. Continue your data removal journey

That’s all there is to it. There’s a catch and a caveat, though. The catch is that it’ll take Numberville up to 30 days to process your request.

The caveat is that this won’t permanently remove your data from Numberville.com, nor will it affect the information that potentially hundreds of other data brokers have on you. Data brokers have a tendency to, sooner or later, recreate opted-out profiles.

Prevent this from happening by periodically checking back with the Numberville website and repeating the data removal process as necessary. When it comes to all those other data brokers that have your data, the first step is tracking them down.

A web search for your name will bring up many people search sites and some other data brokers that publish the personal data they collect. It won’t catch any of the data brokers that don’t make their profiles discoverable to search engines, though.

To get a reasonable shortlist of those, you can look into data brokers known to operate in your area. Then, just send them opt-out requests blind.

If this sounds like too much work, Incogni can handle all the legwork for you. We send out dozens of opt-out requests at a time and regularly monitor these sites to ensure your data doesn’t respawn over time.

We’ll even handle rejection appeals on your behalf and keep you updated throughout the whole process. We periodically restart each data removal procedure to make sure your data doesn’t reappear once it’s been removed.
